Accepted File Types

We accept the following:  JPG (JPEG), GIF, TIF, PNG, PSD, TGA, PDF, or BMP. We recommend sRGB color space, if you are using software which allows you to change this.

The sum of all files being uploaded at one time must not exceed 200 megabytes. In addition, PDF files must not exceed 15,000 pixels in either direction, and must be just a single page. If you use PDF, we recommend you check your file closely after transmission (e.g., for font errors).

You may upload up to 10 files in any single uploading operation, and do as many separate uploading operations as you wish.

We recommend:

Photos from digital cameras:  Save in JPG format.  The more megapixels, the better (provided that they are original, not interpolated, pixels), but this is determined by your camera.

Photos from slide scanners or flatbed scanners:  The best possible quality is obtained by taking the desired print size and multiplying by 150 to 300 pixels per inch.  Large prints look good even at fewer than 150 pixels per inch.

Combinations of photos and text or line art:  We recommend starting with as many megapixels as possible (150 to 300 PPI at the size print you will order), but compress with JPEG.

Just text and line art:  We recommend GIF, BMP, or PNG.

A tip: If you upload files, but your upload is not successful, it could be because your file type is not one of the above, as indicated by the file extension (the part of the file name after the period), e.g., myfile.tif, myfile,jpg, etc.
